web. data. memory

an extension of browsing experience

How much of us is available online?
We produce data everyday.
That data is constantly arquived.
Our activity leaves a trail.
Does this trail say anything about us?

This project aims to collect some of this data:
the way you spend your time time,
your interactions with your keyboard (online),
and the movemnts you did with your cursor.
I've kept two days of my own data.
As an example, you’ll see my own data visualization.
To see your own, you’ll need to install this *extension*
Let it run for a few days and thenreturn to this page.

Internet is a repository of unknown content.
Every possible, weird or mundane need,
will find an answer online.
Sometimes you just want to fulfill a task.
Others, you want to have something to do with your time.
Occasionally you get lost.

We have learnt to write with a pencil and a paper.
Today, our hand gets easily tired of drawing letters on a piece of paper.
Thought expands faster through both arms, through both hands.
Through a keyboard.
How well does your keyboard know you?

A screen does not extend itself,
It has to fit into a space.
What we share through it has not,
it exists beyond physical limits.

This project approaches this theme lightly,
from the perspective of what our data
can reveal about ourselves.
